Join us on an unforgettable journey following the footsteps of the great Bulgarian kings who came from the Far East and founded a country which is now 1340 years old and never changed its name.  

 

You will visit family businesses of various industries – from agricultural and wine production to hotels, hospitality and yachts to one of the biggest producers of appliances in the world.

​

We will all gather and start our journey from Sofia to Kostinbrod and will visit the family business of Mars Armor Ltd., which produce individual means of ballistic protection. Then we’ll have lunch in Pravets and we head off to the open-air ethnographic museum "Etar" near Gabrovo. We will finish our journey for day 1 in the gorgeous medieval capital of Bulgaria – Veliko Tarnovo with another amazing traditional dinner.

The next day we start with a walk around the fortress Tsarevets, where you will learn a lot about Bulgarian history. After that we will leave towards Shumen, around which two of the first capitals in Bulgaria – Pliska and Preslav, have been situated. There our host will be Ficosota Holding – а holding that is a worldwide leader in production of various household items -  from appliances and home care products to fast foods. On the way we will stop and spend the night in the traditional forest hut Sherba where we will experience our unique culture and cuisine.

On the third day of our journey we’ll travel to the Black sea and in particular to Varna - the seaside capital of Bulgaria, famous for its endless sandy beaches that has captured the heart of every visitor and buried unforgettable moments. We’ll have a nice lunch on the yacht harbor at Captain Cook restaurant and family presentation of LZ Yachting. After that we will visit Nenkovi family in BG AGRO company - a leader in the grain market and one of the largest agricultural producers in the country. Our last host on the journey will be Varna Winery. After a wine tasting and a delicious dinner, we head to the airport for a quick flight back to Sofia.

On the next day in Sofia we’ll have a nice walk and will visit some of the most important landmarks and of course we will have lunch at one of the most attractive places in the city. But most of all we will have a lot of fun! We are ready and expecting you!

Useful information 

• Arrival airport: Sofia Airport 

• Recommended arrival date in the city: Sunday 5 June, afternoon  

• Accommodation: shared rooms 

• Dress code: wear comfortable casual clothes and shoes. Do not forget to bring a light jacket because of the season and air-conditioning. 

• Number of participants per learning journey is limited - first come first served!  Approx 30 people per Learning Journey
