Rau

Sabine Rau is one of the most renowned experts for moderating succession processes and co-creating family protocols in Germany and abroad. She holds visiting professorships at the Telfer School of Management (University of Ottawa) and at the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) in Berlin. Moreover, she teaches at the Université de Luxembourg. Until the beginning of 2017, Sabine was a Full Professor of Entrepreneurship at King’s College London. Before she started her academic career as a Research Fellow at INSEAD in Fontainebleau in 2001, Dr. Rau founded her own business and worked in her family’s business. In 2003, Professor Rau took over the presidency of the International Family Enterprise Research Academy (ifera; www.ifera.org), which she led until 2007. She now serves on several boards as an independent director. 

Following the development of the family business center at EBS, Sabine took over as the chair of family business at Otto Beisheim School of Business (WHU) in Vallendar, Germany. Currently, Sabine holds visiting professorships at the Telfer School of Management (University of Ottawa) at Berlin’s European School of Management and Technology (ESMT), and she also teaches at the Université de Luxembourg. Until the beginning of 2017, Sabine was a full professor of Entrepreneurship at King’s College London. Prior to starting her academic career in 2001, as a research fellow at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, Sabine founded her own business while working for her family’s business. She now serves on several boards as an independent director. Sabine is a mother of three adult children, and a grandmother of two children.
